About
Welcome to my niche on the Internet. I currently am employed as a software developer and have nearly four years of experience. Computers and software development are my work and two of my passions. But these aren’t my only interests.
For over ten years, I’ve been a staunch enthusiast of the American Civil War era. From studying the military and social aspects of the war to attending battle reenactments, immersion in the time period has been one of my favorite hobbies. I am the administrator of Vindicating the Trot of the Old War Horse which seeks to contribute to the defense of Confederate Lieutenant General James Longstreet’s actions at the Battle of Gettysburg.
Genealogy – which is the study of one’s family history – is also one of my passions.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Gettysburg College in 2001. My thesis focused on my work on the Virtual Mass Spectrometry Laboratory. I also achieved a Master of Science degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 where my Masters project focused on the creation of a distributed whiteboard application called JChalk.
